Privacy Policy

Effective: May 18, 2026

Summary

Social Nexus is a TikTok creator dashboard that runs locally in your browser. We are built around a simple posture: your data stays with you. The extension does not sell data, does not collect passwords, and does not transmit content from your TikTok session to any third party. Permission-sensitive features are off by default and only run when you activate them.

What we store, and where

All persistent data is stored in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local). It never leaves your machine unless you choose a feature that requires it.

Stored item What it contains Why
User preferences Theme, language, beta toggle, telemetry toggle Personalisation across sessions
Growth bundle Settings and state for advanced features that are off by default Holds configuration for users who later enable advanced tools
Follower cache Snapshots of your own follower lists at moments you trigger Compute gained / lost without re-fetching unchanged data
License cache License key, expiry, last validation timestamp Pro feature access state
Telemetry buffer Anonymous usage events awaiting transmission (only when enabled) Buffered locally so brief offline periods do not lose signals

You can clear all of this by uninstalling the extension. Chrome removes extension storage automatically on uninstall.

What we transmit

Three optional outbound paths exist. Each is described below.

Telemetry (opt-out available)

Anonymous usage events such as feature_opened, download_completed, or build_loaded. No content, no follower lists, no post bodies, no personally identifiable information. Used to understand which features need improvement.

A Settings toggle lets you disable telemetry entirely. When disabled, no event leaves your browser and the local buffer is cleared immediately. The toggle ships with the current build and respects the user's choice across restarts.

License validation (only if you enter a license key)

If you paste a license key in Settings, the extension POSTs the key to our license endpoint to validate it and to fetch the expiry. The request contains only the key. No other data is sent. Results are cached locally for 24 hours with a 7-day offline grace period.

TikTok APIs (your own session)

The extension reads from TikTok using your existing logged-in session, the same way the TikTok website itself does. We never see your TikTok password. The extension does not store your TikTok credentials. Cookies remain in your browser under TikTok's domain.

Permissions

The extension requests permissions in two tiers.

Always granted on install

Granted only when you invoke a feature that needs them

The first time you use a feature that needs an optional permission, Chrome shows a native consent prompt. Refusing a permission disables only the feature that needs it. The rest of the extension continues to work.

What we do not do

Advanced features and consent

Some advanced features ship with the extension code but stay off by default. They never run unless you explicitly opt in from a consent dialog. The dialog names what the feature does, what TikTok's terms say about it, and how to revoke access. If you never open that dialog, those features do not execute.

Data deletion

You can delete all local data in three ways:
